Nigella Sativa L(NS) commonly named blackseed is known for its pharmacological properties. It was used for a long time in Arabian and Romanian ethnopharmacological fields. Multiple studies investigated its antifungal and antibacterial effects. Two varieties of Nigella sativa L essentiel oil were tested for antifungal and antibacterial activities against Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus. Two varieties of Nigella sativa L seeds were used - the first cultivated in Tunisia and the second imported . The study included two stains of Candida albicans and one stain of Staphylococcus aureus . The tested essentiel oils were obtained by hyrodistillation . MICs were determinated using a series of dilution and a disc-diffusion method. The MIC were similar for the first stain of Candida albicans. But for the second stain, the MIC of tunisian NS essentiel oil was superior to that imported. Regarding Staphylococcus aureus the MIC of tunisian NS essentiel oil was lower then the imported variety. This study should be completed by an in vitro test in order to better study the antimicrobial effects of these products.
